11. COMMENTS On night of sighting, Jupiter was low on horizon and quite bright, magnitude -2.3. It is quite possible that planet was distorted and discolored by atmospheric refraction and consequently misidentified. Data provided with this sighting is very limited but there is no evidence which would indicate that this objt was not Jupiter.
