CONCLUSIONS: Was Ballon [REDACTED] Possibly Ballon Was Aircraft [REDACTED] Possibly Aircraft Was Astronomical [REDACTED] Possibly Astronomical
Object described by observer as set of rotating lights, counter clockwise varying red, white & green. Object appeared to have two beam like legs on top and on both sides. Source was an AF pilot of F-84F n/c, observed the object at 27,000' altitude then climbed to 37,000' which was same altitude of object. When observer attempted interception, object pulled away & disappeared after approximately 30 seconds. Source is a reliable combat pilot who is an AF colonel.
The tone of this report is very similar to the same Isle (Niv) & N.Y. (Obs) sightings of the planet Jupiter. Although this object is not Jupiter, it is felt that the F-84 pilot did see a bright astronomical body, possibly the planet Jupiter Venus

The following is a report of an aerial sighting on an unidentified flying object near Misawa, Japan at 1934L, 29 Dec '52. The object was a brilliant light that changed in color from red to white and was seen by 2 crew members of a B-26 for approximately 5 to 7 minutes. The light appeared to be moving at a speed equivalent to that of the aircraft at approximately lo-7o nautical miles SW of the o/c. Object seemed to be descending slowly and moving to the west, finally disappearing in clouds.
