Conclusion: The possibility of a flare drop activities on this date were investigated with negative results. Another witness stated that it occurred on 18 Oct. England AFB was contacted however they failed to respond to the request. Although it is felt that the sighting is of flares it is being carried as Unidentified.
The observer observed series of bright red flakses in the northern sky. "The object flashed & different times moving in an easterly direction barely over tree top high."
Comments: The original letter stated that the sighting took place on 13 Oct. One witness stated that it occurred on 11 October.
