11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Observer was putting the dog out doors when he looked up and saw a bright object in the southern sky. The object was round about the size of a pin head. It was red and yellow in color. The object did not disappear; it was still visible when the observer quite looking. The only noted movement was a swaying back and forth.
The description is consistent with that of an astronomical observation. Mars with a stellar magnitude of approximately -0.2 at this time of the year would have been the brightest thing in the southern sky.
