11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Round silvery object observed at 27 day elevation in North. Disappeared in a high vertical speed. Nothing observed other than a bright reflection. Sighted at dusk. No small dots were the whole scene. Report submitted by Ronald Walton of Bloomingburg, N.Y. Flight included descent. Initial impression was that object was a star. Sighting two miles from airport in line with takeoff and landing pattern.

COLLINS: Description similar to sunlight reflecting from an object such as an n/c. Duration not indicated. Interview with the two witnesses was taped and forwarded. The sighting appeared in local news media. Forwarded from Standard AFB as per instruction reporting previous reports from this source. Sun reflecting from n/c or balloon probably cause of sighting. Balloon least likely cause is economic or top of engine problem.
