11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Small illuminated object at 230 deg azimuth 10 deg elevation estimated distance 50 nm. Flight Eastward disappearing over the horizon after a 9 minute flight.
COMMENTS: Description of sighting indicates a satellite observation. ECHO I was in the Southern Hemisphere at the time of the reported observation. Only evaluated as hypothetical Satellite (ECHO II) observation. ECHO II was moving East at about 70 deg North from 140 deg East to 125 deg East during the time of the reported observation. Since the object was observed to the North of the location this places the Satellite in direction of the object being observed.
