BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING An extremely bright object, colored green, orange and white, was seen across the sky from N to S at 23:54 GMT It was sighted by a number of people Object was large Some viewers estimating it at 200' long, was shaped like a ball and had a long tail or trail Tail appeared to be burning and pieces falling from the object.

11. COMMENTS This object possesses the characteristic outline for that class of meteor known as fireball The bodies of artificial satellites would produce the same general type display but no re-entry occurred on this date Dr R M Tepetre Dominion Astro Physical observatory reported the object to be a meteor.
