10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING: Obj viewed thru a telescope on night that had stars, no moon. Obj appeared to change brightness & give off smoke. Obj moved behind a cloud. Had something similar to haze around it. Transcribed as a 7 deg X 2 deg while viewed thru a 117 power TX. Appeared to have tight spiral tail rather than away from Sun as is normal for a comet. Brightness fluctuated from -2.5 to -6th. Faded at the end of six min observation & was not observed again.
11. COMMENTS: Appearance similar to a comet w/ exception of the tail pointing toward the sun. Sufficient info for eval. Sightings appear to be astronomical. No threat to security of U.S. indicated.
