PROJECT 10073 RECORD CARD Cy For 46028-RW3.

1. DATE: 31 JULY [ILLEGIBLE] AUGUST 1956 2. LOCATION: Amarillo, Texas

3. DATE/TIME GROUP: [HW:] 4. TYPE OF OBSERVATION: FBI Report 5. PHOTOS: Xi Yea 6. SOURCE: Civilian (EX AF pilot)

7. LENGTH OF OBSERVATION: 2 hrs, 15 min. 8. NUMBER OF OBJECTS & COURSE: 1

9. CONCLUSIONS: ☐ War Balloon ☐ Probable Balloon ☐ Possibly Aircraft ☐ War Aircraft ☐ Probable Aircraft ☐ Possibly Airship

10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING: Observed bright trajectory 10 miles SB of Amarillo, followed by another, appearing as a light in a cloud formation estimated to be 50 miles in length and varying in size of grapefruit, having faint traces red and varying its position. Picture taken of the pattern left by object.

11. COMMENTS: Plot of positions, directions and locations given show that a line from observers position (bearing 310 o'clock) points directly at the Army Artillery Testing Grounds. Probably high-altitude AA firings with drones, rockets, parachute flares etc., which may have accounted for the odd illumination and patterns against the night sky.

LATE UFO REPORT: Submitted to ATIC Jan '57

ATIC FORM 329 (REV 26 SEP '52) UNCLASSIFIED
