BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS An object, or light, shaped first like plate, seen directly overhead by person riding in an open convertible going north; later shaped like a cut out of a ship upward and enveloped in mist. Gold and white, with edges rounded off. Light said to be bright enough to light road and surrounding witness drove home and called three others--though it was moon at first but abandoned this hypothesis because of shape, erratic action. Discrepancy in time. Quarter moon was rising and should have been visible if eastern horizon entirely unobscured. Witnesses reject hypothesis of moon even though they failed to see the moon. Rejection emphatic.
