PROJECT 10073 RECORD
1. DATE-TIME GROUP 7 Oct '6 - 08/0336Z
2. LOCATION Omaha, Nebraska
3. SOURCE Civilian
4. NUMBER OF OBJECTS 1
5. LENGTH OF OBSERVATION 3-4 minutes
6. TYPE OF OBSERVATION Ground Visual
7. COURSE E-W
8. PHOTOS [HW: Yes]
9. PHYSICAL EVIDENCE [HW: No]
10. CONCLUSION Sighting: Probable AIRCRAFT (INSUFFICIENT CLARITY)
11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Observer sighted a white object that looked like a cigar with a dome toward the front. The object passed in front of and behind clouds and made no noise.
Comments: The local investigating officer felt that there was a question to the reliability of the witness. A dome on a cylindrical body, as reported by the observer could not be seen on the photograph. Three aircraft were in the area at times of possible sighting; in particular a Cessna 411 was obscending from 2000 to 2100 Z arriving at Omaha at 034CZ This would place the aircraft below the 400Cft broken to overcast condition that existed in the area.
