PROJECT 10073 RECORD
DATE - TIME GROUP 25/1950 25 Feb 67 26/01/02
LOCATION Fargo, North Dakota
SOURCE Civilian
NUMBER OF OBJECTS One
LENGTH OF OBSERVATION 2 - 3 Minutes
TYPE OF OBSERVATION Ground-'equal'
PHOTOS XX+, O No.
PHYSICAL EVIDENCE n Y=, XX+=,
CONCLUSION Visual: Possible Other (PLASMA) Photos: Possible Other (JALASKA)
There was no radar contact or known air traffic in the area at that time. The sources estimate of size and distance are consistent with the photographic evidence; however, definitive size determinations cannot be obtained due to the lack of necessary detail for obtaining a scale factor.
BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS [REDACTED]
The observers stated that they sighted and photographed a luminescence "blob" that rose from the ground and accelerated eastward in a north-easterly direction. They estimated that the phenomenon was about 5 ft in diameter and about 200 ft away when they first sighted it.
[REDACTED] Shutter speed was estimated by the observers as 1/15 and 1/100 of a second. However there is some question is to the nature of the streak of light at the bottom of the first photo. Dr Hynek feels that it could have been the result of either street light or auto headlights reflecting from the road surface.
