11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Observer noted object redder than the sun that looked like fire rather than a "sun ball." Object was viewed through clouds. Object larger than comet particularly when it exploded. Observer was looking westward (telephone conversation 18 Aug '66) and did not report seeing sun which had not set yet. The sun rays were more than likely viewed through the clouds.
