11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Observer just happened to look up and noticed long red top and white tail, blinking red lighted object. Observer stated at first he thought it was a A/C but when it went straight down, it caused him to report it.

Investigation reveals that the object sighted by observer was in probability an a/c landing at the Collier Airport located approx miles due N of the sighting area. The owner of the Collier Airport stated he had knowledge of one A/C landing at approx the time in question. Also knowledge of Skyknight flight to en route Houston. The pilot stated he was on a direct flight from Houston International to Collier Airport at approx 2,000 ft. Made a normal rectangular path landing to the N but was required to make a rapid descent due to the miscalculation of the base leg. Pilot said his a/c is red and beige and has rotating beacon on tail. Pilot stated he landed at approx 2030 which is approx 1 hour sooner than [ILLEGIBLE] ONCE.
