11. BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS Object South of Venus moving SE observed for three hours. Smaller than Venus. Flashing different colors, red. Venus assumed to be in the South.

Formalhaut is the only star of lst mag in the South at the reported time (if time is Z time)

EXPLANATION: Venus at 9h47'23 on 1 Oct. Not visible therefore witness was not observing Venus unless time is in error. At 0500 Local 2 Oct Venus was at 9h51'51. The sun was at 12:32:24 daylight about one hour later and an object less bright than Venus would not be bright and flashing at a magnitude less from Venus when it was at a lesser magnitude. Mars and Jupiter are libration not visible in the South at the reported time. Case regarded as unreliable report.
