10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING Light purple object larger than meteor entering atmosphere at 45 deg elevation from reportin a/c... Went out at 10,000 ft as object broke into 5 pieces. Object on southerly heading.

11. COMMENTS 1964 42A decay on 21 Jan.. No reported decays for 22 Jan.. Duration not reported however description of the sighting is consistent with decay evaluation or meteor observation.. Purple, while unusual is within known color reports.. Meteor analysis not ruled out however there are more indicaties of a satellite decay and this case is carried in that category.
