10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING Ellipsoid with long direction pointing in direction of travel, Bright white or blue. While telescoberving a piece fell off of main body and fell out fast and bright for too slow for meteor. Tail 7K as long as main body. No sound. Got dimmer as it crossed sky. Initial observation at 20-30 deg elevation in Ns. Disappeared at 20-30 degs in SE. Sighting at night. Object visible 5-10 seconds. Believed possible reentry. Note that Airline crew also observed obj. No confirmation as to date.

11. COMMENTS 1963 3SD decayed on 1 Sep. Description could indicate either a meteor or decay. Date given is DJD possible a Satellite decay or meteor. No attempt at specific analysis without exact DTC.
