Five airlines observed strange bright light, very high shining through haze. No movement observed. Report to Chicago Center by five airlines. Ground observations of funnel shaped cloud from St Clairsville & Minerva, Ohio. Light flashed for 30 seconds & west out. Cloud then quickly dissipated. Looking South.
11. COMMENTS Rpt essentially one of bright light going out & leaving cloud which dissipated. Observed from Ohio to Illinois & Michigan to Tennessee. The fact that such wide areas indicates that obj's considerable altitude. Cases of this nature in the past have always turned out to be meteor observations.
