BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING:[REDACTED] or Light orange objt sighted on an azimuth of approx 010° by [REDACTED] at Lockbourne AFB. Objt was at elevation of [REDACTED] and disappeared in some direction. Objt was described as smaller and brighter, 2" in diameter. Sightig lasted for 15 sec.

COMM[STAMP:] of this UFO conclus[STAMP:] that of star Varkak at time and date given. It probable that refraction of this star was cause of sighting. Short duration of sighting tends to substantize this conclusion. It is still hard to explain why star was not recognized after it was higher in sky.
