Disappeared (approx 8 of them) at due elev 135° az. Others 20° elev and 200° az due to nearby electric lights glow. Flight path varied greatly with several abrupt changes of direction with no apparent change in speed. Speed was tremendous.
11. COMMENTS Description of sighting has all characteristics of a meteor shower. It is probably August shower which starts on [STAMP: Sep] and ends in Sep. Coordinates of apparent origin of shower [STAMP: ] coincides with location indicated by witness as origin of objects. Fact that witness indicated that objts were going away from him is due to an optical illusion. There is no reason to identify these objts as other than meteors.
CONCLUSIONS: Was Balloon Possibly Balloon Possibly Balloon Was Aircraft Possibly Aircraft Possibly Aircraft Was Astronomical METEOR Probably Astronomical Possibly Astronomical Other Insufficient Data for Evaluation Unknown
