BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING Unknown light observed 3-4 miles off runway at 1,000'. Light changing color from white, green, yellow, red. Remained fairly stationary and disappeared into horizon. Reports from N. D. are in general of landing about time of observation. Local report from civilian report same.
COMMENTS Probably observation of Venus, which was very low on horizon. Probable distortion/location and refraction in atmosphere. Venus was -4.3 mag and brightest object up at this time. During latter part of Feb and first part of March there was a rash of reports due to misidentification of this Planet.
