10a BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING: B-47 and F-102 chased balloon to 37,000 ft. Identified the object as a giant balloon. General appearance probably due to sun. Balloon moving N. As 31/2355 sighted between 65-70° in horizon, and moving thru .50° longitude between 2350 and 2350. CCI sighted balloon at Walnut Ridge on ground. Delta Airlines flight 761 spotted balloon on flight to Texarkana. Tower at Blytheville sighted balloon at 01/0128Z, orange and silver color and estimated it at [ILLEGIBLE] mi distance and [ILLEGIBLE] times larger than evening stars.

11. COMMENTS: Identified as balloon by pilots of B-47, which accomplished intercepts at 37,000 ft. Balloon was illuminated by the setting sun which was also responsible for the coloring.
