10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING 11. COMMENTS

[REDACTED] Indianapolis, Indiana Local 0000-0130 GMT 2:17 (CST) B Ground-Visual [HW: Ground-Radar] A Yes [HW: No] Civilian [HW: Other] 1 1/2 hrs [ILLEGIBLE] ONCE 17 stationary

All 17 objects slightly larger than pinhead; changed color-vivid purple, red, amber. 2 or 3 times two smaller green specks appeared, one on each side. Occasionally a light would shine down.

There were two lst magnitude stars and the planet Mars near the horizon to the NW plus a temperature inversion. The inversion would cause the astro bodies to appear higher than they actually were and would also cause the color changes. This is probably the cause for the sighting.
