DATE: 2h May, 1960 LOCATION: Murfreesboro, Tennessee DATE-TIME GROUP: GMT 25/01152 Ground-Visual Ground-Radar Air-Visual Air-Intercept Radar Yes Civilian 6 Minutes One into six Easterly Smooth object, somewhat like a disc, size of a star, very bright blue like Venus observed approaching observer. It got bigger and then after 5 minutes, object disappeared and was replaced by 6 or 7 small lights like a constellation. These faded out over one minute. Description of sighting conforms exactly to the description of a balloon in flight and then bursting. The windward direction of flight of the object is identical as is the duration of the sighting and the distance travelled by the object prior to it's disappearance. Case listed as a balloon observation.
