15 December 1957 Elmendorf AFB, Alaska Local GMT 16/0040Z X Air-Visual X Air-Visual X Air-Visual Military X No X Yes 8 seconds one down [ILLEGIBLE] ONCE Round, brilliant blue-white object, size of silver dollar. Similar in appearance to falling star or burning magnesium flare. Approx 2 ft in length, was falling straight down and appeared fuzzy at the edges Trail black smoke then burst into yellow flame & appeared to disintegrate.
Undoubtedly a meteor from the Geminids shower.
