X. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING Very faint object observed traveling from the NNW to the SSE at almost precisely the same time the Soviet Satellite was due over the area. The direction of the object also coincided very closely with the satellite track.
XI. COMMENTS On the basis of the data given - which closely coincides with the transit of Sputnik over that area - there is no compelling reason to conclude other than that that object was probably Sputnik I.
