10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING given
Two radar units (one in N.Y. & other in Pa) observed high speed targets heading west. Alerted other radar units along a pre-plotted track. Fight interceptor units (ADC) in Michigan Wisconsin alerted to intercept.No contact made.Nothing unusual.Tar get faded.Radar investigation team set up to check this incident.Findings made in special report(in case filo).
11. COMMENTS Investigations disclose that there was an equipment malfunction in first radar unit; when frequency changed, spurious targets disappeared./Detemined that two SAC were suppressed by radar chaff in area.Also,the targets shown in the set were completely abnormal./Conclusions:No compelling reason or indications that targets were hostile or enemy a/c or missiles.
