SAER SUMARY OF SIGHTING:
On 14 August, between 2120-2220 ZI, Radar observers reported 3 discrete UFOs visibility of appearing and disappearing on their screens for a [ILLEGIBLE] hr period.
Bentwaters station alerted RAF radar unit at Lakenheath. On 14 Aug, the RAF unit reported obj were observed intermittently from 06:07 to CIRCO, going from W to SE, stopping for a minutes, thence NW, disappearing from scope at CIRCO.
At first glance, the 2 messages (CT Magee, Lakenheath; IA Box & IL Magee; Bentwaters) reporting this sighting may give the impression that observations, radar, ground and air were simultaneous. A review of detailed report DII-56, dated 31 Aug '56', indicates that although the observations took place within the periods given they cannot be considered as concurrent.
