BRIEF SUMMARY OF LIGHTING: One cigar-shaped object hallowed in yellow light. Color was between orange and yellow. Size was about size of grapefruit when observed through binoculars. Object appeared to have reddish tail, Object moved in 230° to 240° azimuth and ascended. [STAMP:]

COMMENTS: Tinker AFB, Okla released balloon w/light attached at 05/0830Z Balloon was tracked to approximately 1932Z at which time balloon was believed to have burst & equipment to have continued in flight by attached parachute. Balloon in area of sighting at rising travel in approx direction Signs time discrepancy accounted for in that observers uncertain as to time of initial sighting & duration observation-duration estimation.
