10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING One object, round on top coming to a point at the bottom, size of a basket ball at arm's length, light translucent silvery color, and appeared to be a balloon. Moved slowly to the northeast at a high altitude & gradually disappeared. Seen through 2 telescopes, one of 35 power. A light aircraft fm a nearby field sent to 6,000 feet to observe the object but seemed no closer than before on the ground & F-94C made short search of area with negative results.
11. COMMENTS Concur with the Commander, Richmond Air Defense Filter Center, that this sighting was undoubtedly caused by a balloon. Received by letter, 26 April 1956.
