BRIEF SUMMARY OF LIGHTING One object, the size of a quarter held at arm's length, reddish orange in color, bluish white in front with a reddish-orange tail, appeared as a brilliant reddish-orange glow in the northern skies. The object appeared to be descending in the north. Seen by two pilots (separate aircraft) and one observer on ground.

11. COMMENTS This headquarters is of the opinion that this sighting was generated by a meteor for the following reasons: the description of the object; the fact that it had a tail (or trail); the description of that tail; the duration of the sighting; the course of the object; the colors of the object; and the fact that this object was seen at widely scattered points indicating that it was very high in atmosphere.
