PROJECT 100/3 RECORD CARD LOCATION: HAWNSVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA DATE OF OCCURRENCE: 15 Dec 52 15/0925582 15/14358 AF Pilot
TIME: 10-15 sec
Circular silver object appeared size of half dollar from ten mile distance. Object appeared to oscillate. Losing & gaining altitude rapidly. Observed by pilot of RF-60 a/c, at an altitude of 35,000' travelling 300 mph.

This report was checked against a similar one from Greenville, S.C., 170 miles N which took place 10 minutes after this sighting. Results: No apparent correlation between the two as the speed is too high for balloon or jet. This object described a conventional balloon.
